Under no circumstance do you want to fight, argue or try to run from the officers.  Even if they do decide to arrest you, do not fight them because you will then end up with extra charges of trying to resist arrest and being aggressive with officers, which will only end up aggravating the situation further.

Do not engage with the officers if they do try to interrogate or question you at the station without having a lawyer present. You should let them know that you are not going to say anything until you speak to a lawyer first. This is not an admission of guilt, it is a means of protecting yourself. Get a lawyer to come in and talk to you. You will go over your case details with them, and they will ask if you have any other run-ins with the law prior.  Depending on the laws of your state, your previous arrest history if any, and the details of your current charges, your lawyer will then guide you on what you need to do next, or they will take over and handle the officers themselves. At the end of the day, regardless of the outcome, you need to be sure to avoid ever having to be in the same position again.
